Back To Honda Again
Once again I have another appt to bring my car in for the following tomorrow;
1) Driver Chair is loose again (already fixed 3 months ago)
2) Clutch (Service Bulletin) Master Cylinder, Every time I press the clutch I hear a creaking noise
3) Warning light not working for Wiper Fluid (Canada only)
4) Sunroof (there is a plastic piece that keeps rattling when the sunroof is closed
5) Breaks, car pulls to the right while breaking
6) Steering Wheel not centered (only when the car is cold) 8th attempt weird eh!!!
I can guarantee you that out of the list above the only thing that will be fixed are the washer light and the clutch. I have no faith in Honda anymore. Don't know what to do because the car is under warranty. I went to Honda yesterday to see what the fee is to get out of my lease and upgrade to a Accord, they wanted my to pay $3500.00 to get out of my lease and $450 per month for a 2 door 4 cyl. They must think I’m on acid, who would pay that amount for a basic accord????
I'll keep you posted...

Reliability ratings on German cars haven't been faring so well for quite some time, certainly not keeping up w. their Japanese counterparts. I know a few people who're having troubles w. their new BMWs, and VWs (though manufactured not necessarily in Germany) or proving problematic nowadays as well

6 replacement 02 sensors
2 Mass Air flow sensors
short in gauge cluster
engine using 1 qt oil every 3k (Did it from the time I got it, Dealer said it was normal)
ac compressor malfunction
My golf was a POS!!
this is crazy though, I have 15000,00 km on my civic and I have lost count on the amount of times I have taken my car in for service. There do not care what so ever about customer servce. My car comes back with the same problem or additional problems. If I ever win the lottery I am not buying a car i am getting a personal chauffeur to drive me around. º¿º

OK,
Honda called me and this is what they found,
Master Cylinder Needs to be replaced (clutch) (on order)
Sensor for Washer Fluid (parts on order)
Driver Seat (parts on order)
Breaks, car was pulling to the right, they said I need to have my front breaks serviced. (Is this normal 15,000KM) $45.99
Checking the wheel alignment
I still have a rental car, I will keep you posted

German cars are definatly cool, but I worked in a law office which pacticed lemon law for six months.. Let me tell you something audi and VW have some big time electrcal problems and many of the german companies are not very quick to settle cases....meaning you will go to trial.
Truthfully they are much better then the American compaines but again, the Asain car manufactures have much fewer problems in the long run......exept for hyundai they have some problems too

With all the cars produces, there are gonna be lemons no matter what brand you car you drive. I have a 04 civic ex and i have 12k miles on it and i haven't run into any problems yet. Yes i know i have a lot of miles on my car, for an 04, but i drive 100miles back and forth from work. I dont know about canada but i know california has lemon laws. If you have a new car and you this many problems with it, you might want to look up the lemon laws in your area and see if you can get out of the lease.

Owned a 1998 BMW 3 series in the family......
air conditioner unit failed after 45 thousand miles? yes I was like WTF!
Vac tubes defective noticible around 22 thousand miles-replaced by warranty.
replaced rear tailight, the clear part faded an icky yellow.
power seat to key settings never worked, they claimed they fixed it! still never worked.
Tires on the car were defective with slits in the inside, BMW replaced for free in a flee to prevent a lawsuit from us.
fan belt needed early replacement as did the break lines around 39thousand miles
ever own a BMW again? F@ck no!
car was a lemon probally, but damn it drove so nice
what we own now a lexus!
problems none
toyota quality
dont get me started on quality of vettes....
my dads first c5 1998 nassura blue didnt even have it 3 weeks weeks before the tranny needed replacement.

Man my driver seat is loose too! I brought it in last time to fix the seat, rattle in B-pillar, and oil change. Ended up seat was still loose, b-pillar still rattles, and overfilled my engine that took me 2 more visits to correct the oil level.
personally, i think honda didn't do so well on the 7th gen civics. i owened mine for about a year and a half and put 30k on it. never had mechanical problems, still not a bad car, but it just didn't feel like a typical honda. shifter clunky and loose, steering imprecise, ride wasn't that great, handling wasn't anything special. even the interior seemed low quality compared to my current civic, a 1990 civic hatch with 165k on it which btw i drive the snot out of autoxing every month.

The overall quality on the 7th gens has declined alot I know the head mechanic at the honda dealership here and he told me all of the differences between the 6th and 7th gen. Honda went cheap on the parts changed some suspension parts from solid to hollow parts that tend to warp under heavy use. Many other parts were replaced for cheaper parts.

vw definately has quality issues. things might get better with the 5th gen golf/jetta, but so far doesn't look like it.
