CVT tranny -Dont understand...

This statement appears in the FAQ-The CVT of course, the CVT transmission will allow you to keep the engine at 6000K plus RPM or whatever RPM you feel gives the most power while it continuously changes the pullies to create a gear ratio thats provides optimum performance.

I dont know about you, but if Im flooring it, it shifts at 7500 into second and the RPM's drop to 4000 ! What is this guy talking about-keeeping it in the 6000 range? How ?? Whats the S mode?? IF ITS THE OPTION ONDER DRIVE, IF YOU START OUT IN THAT MODE ITS A DOG BECAUSE ITYS NOT IN 1ST GEAR! SO WHATS THE BENEFIT?

And the other section said you can "switch" it on??? WTF? "Honestly you cant. We CVT owners get the thrill of popping the CVT to sport mode, watch it rev to 6500 instantly (revs up like it was in neutral) and sit back and enjoy the sound of the engine as shes accelerates at peak performance. This reminds me of a story when my friend who is a hardcore chevelle guy wanted to see how the CVT ran. He hopped in and we went cruisin. We hit an empty rode, I threw the CVT in "S" mode, the engine soared to 6k rpms and was just screaming. I kept it like that for about 5 secs, my friend was like DAMN NICK, WHEN IS THIS BIT-CH GOING TO SHIFT. I looked at him and said......never my friend, she nevers shifts. i then began to cry (happy tears ) as i started to slow her down."

anyway, do you really feel the smoothness of the cvt transmission?

I don't......i still feel the "bump" when it's changing gear..

dml5551 is an unknown quantity at this point
I HAVE THE CVT TRANNY ON MY '03 HX AND WHEN IT SHIFTS YOU FEEL LITTLE OR NO SHIFT BUMP AT ALL. WHEN RACING OR PLAYING AROUND W/ MY CAR I LAUNCH MY CAR AT 2,500 RPM AND ONCE I HIT 40 I SHIFT DOWN INTO "S" AND THEN ONCE MY CAR HITS 60 IT TOPS OUT AT 6,700RPM THEN I SHFT BACK TO"D." WHILE I'M DOING THOSE SHIFTS I NEVER EVER FEEL THE GEARS CHANGE THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN TELL IS WHEN YOU START TO HEAR THE MOTOR SCREAM LIKE A BITCH.
