any hope in automatics

Stock 6-sp EX runs mid 16's.
As for putting a K20 into a Vic...someones done it. I think it was the k20b, the RSX-S engine.
the k20c of the base is an improvement from the Vic
ya u guys must be pussies or something cuz i cruise at 100 everyday on the freeway, i topped out around 115 in my auto lx coupe. It wasn't even redlined, it was just the speed limiter cutting off the gas.
OK, I call them a, b, c...you call em 1, 2, 3...same thing. And when i said 6-speed i ment the manuel...thought the manuel vic was 6. Oh well, been awhile. As for the redline, auto shifts in a "safe" area...with manuel you can push the gear to a higher point before shifting, thats what i meant, although my wording wasn't the best.
BTW...we don't get the EL, is it like another car in the Honda/ Acura lineup rebadged? Like RSX-Integra, TSX-Japanese Accord etc.

As for the EL, think of it as a Civic EX sedan, with 4-wheel disc brakes, heated leather seats, side airbags, and all of the other features, with a slightly different exterior. Just check out my gallery. The pics were taken back in January when I first got it, I'll have to take new pics of it now that the weather is nicer out and it has the alloys on.

What are you talking about? Having a manual has nothing to do with being able to redline it, you can redline an automatic too.
Exactly all you have to do in an auto to redline each gear is do a wide open throttle.and as each gear hits redline it swictes gear super quick...prolly faster than you can shift a stick.

Man, that EL is really nice. Really like the front end. I assume there's no 4-door EX <Si> in Canada? The front end is really nice...but you didn't get alloys with a premium? I know Canada's bottom line RSX ,which the US doesn't have, also gets steelies...whasupwitdat? Acuras should have alloys stock, you're paying enough for the name!
What kind of engine does the EL have?

So I called around to a few Honda dealerships and found a good deal on a set of four 14" steelies that came off of a brand new Civic that the owner bought alloys for. So I put those on for the winter with a set of Blizzaks, and I just had the alloys and Potenzas put on Saturday
imp:As for the engine, it has the same D17A2 that the Si (EX) has.

I'm lazy to quote, but for those that feel autos are faster than 5 speed in shift time, you guys must not know/have seen some good 5 speed drivers.

OK, I agree, most ppl do shift slower in a 5 speed compared to a auto, and autos are generally smoother. But it doesnt takea pro driver to shift fast. Comparing a computer/calculator with a human mind is not accurate. Yes, I will say for calculus problems and alegbra, higher level maths, the calc will be faster, but thats b/c the human mind has to think and take steps and cant process the info as fast, but driving stick doesnt take any thinking at all... just do it.
As for pro drivers preferring autos, a Civics auto compared to a drag cars auto is different, same goes for stick cars, by that level, how you prep the car is more important. If youre running 9 second 1/4 miles, I may prefer an auto or sequential manual as well b/c the speed is so high that there can be mistakes. As for road course, autoX, manual is always more desirable, I would hate to have my car upshift in mid corner. But.... unless someone is a pro driver here, I feel most ppl that can drive stick on here will opt to have a stick.

Stock auto Vic EX run like low-mid 17's...6 speed usually has a .5-1.0 sec advantage in any car. Stock 6-sp EX runs mid 16's. The 7thgen doesnt respond that well to bolt ons so I can't see running 16.3 in an auto. I had SRI/ DC TCS exhaust on my auto and best i ran was 16.8. I only run like 16.1 in my RSX with intake/ exhaust, and thats with 33 more hp and 20 something lbs more torque.
As for putting a K20 into a Vic...someones done it. I think it was the k20b, the RSX-S engine. If you have the $ for a swap i'd do that, or a k20a...the k20c of the base is an improvement from the Vic, but prolly not worth the $. Or if you want to stay auto you could drop the k24 <TSX> 200hp engine in, its pretty much a bolt on to the RSX so i imagine it fits.

K20A = JDM Integra Type R Engine
K20A2 = RSX Type S Engine
K20A3 = RSX Base/Civic SI Engine
6-sp EX = WTF?
