So here's the question for all you Car Security installers out there. I currently have a compuStar model 2000AS security on my car. This version had that page the owner of the vehicle that you can stick on the windshield.
My question is, if I take that tab off the windshield and cut the wire, waht will happen? Should I try and tace the line back to the brain and cut it off and tape it off wire electrical wires? Or is it alright by just cutting it off, tape the wire off and hide it underneath the dash?
I'm a total nooB at security stuff, if anyone can give me any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I got a reply back from the people at First Tech. Only need to disconnect the wire from the brain and then remove it.
Just finished removing it just now.. Looks way cleaner without that little thing on my front windshield.

I had mine on for about 3 months and went back to where I had it installed to have it removed. It ended up being a pain in the ***, because on a windy day it can set it off - there were some nights that it went off every 5 minutes for about an hour. I finally had to turn the alarm off just so it would stop annoying me.
It's a cool feature, and maybe if I had a family or something I would keep it, but it ended up being such a huge pain in the ***, and nobody ever really paged me so there was no point in keeping it on ...

Yup, it's a pain when it beeps in the heavy wind gusts. And punk kids keep knocking on it when I used to go to school. Your in class and beep beep beep, then you run out to make your no one did anything to your car. I got egged once, that pissed me off. Had to clean it in the middle of winter.. was it ever cold.

Took a while to figure where the brain was, was it ever hard to get to. well if anyone had this installed, just need to disconnect your wire before you remove it from the windshield.
