after figuring out the basics of the VTEC light (ie tapping a line to monitor the signal via a LED) i was wondering if there are any other electiral lines from the ECU to tap and monitor, just to tinker...


is there a seperate signal line from the ecu to the engine that tells it to cut off the fuel (ie tapping it would make a light that comes on whenever the revlimiter, for example, is hit)

how bout rpm levels (a ghetto shift light)

get what i mean??? any other ideas are appreciated.

There is an rpm wire, but it probably won't work for a shift light. Just get a tach for that. You can't really monitor anything with a light. Just buy a VAFCII and you get everything. rpms, vtec, battery, etc.

i have just a shift light and i tapped into this one wire in the engine near the passenger headlight. check out my memebrs rides for pics of the shift light. it was a very easy install.

if i tap that wire and hook and LED to it, that means that whenever the RPM's rise, the light will comeon right? theres more to this if you want it to light up at a certain RPM right?
