Is it recommended to seal TYC's?
what's up? I'm about to get some TYC's pretty soon (on monday actually) and was just wondering if people who have them sealed them with silicone to prevent leaks. I heard that they dont leak and are properly sealed, but do people seal them anyways? I didnt seal my angel eyes, and they always fogged
Has anyone had their TYC headlamps fog up?

i personally didnt do it, i might do it when i re paint my car! Very rarely, and i mean very rarely my lights fog up! so its not a huge issue, and when it does fog up, it goes away after like an hour!

I've had mine on my car since last July and I've had no fogging. All I did was take them out of the box and put them in - no sealing. You shouldn't need to do anything to them.
One of mine starting leaking about 2 months after install. After dealing with TYC for sometime they sent me new ones, which I sealed and have no issue since. Over a year now. I would recommend spending the extra $10 and seal em, can't hurt.
my same lights fogged up, I redid them, and made my own angel eyes, which I am not performing on other people's, if you are interested, email me: zazza_ceo@tunernetwork.com, I made a post with pics in the "For Sale" forum, under TYC Project Angel Eyes or something like that, lol.

The TYCs are not sealed. They are just snapped together. It is quite possible their are parts on the headlamps where the lens and base are not flush. Just put a bead of silicone around them. It will take you 10 min to do the two headlamps, and you won't ever have to worry about it.
Just FYI, I bought mine used and the person said it never fogged. It appeared clean and spotless, but on a couple of cold nights in CA caused my headlights to fog heavily. Save your self some time, and just seal them.
