Automatic Transmision Stalling

ok i have a 92 automatic cavalier. sometimes when i come to a stop it will start jerking violetly and just stall out what the hell is going on please help me out here.

yeah check tranny fluid, converter and stuff, start with the fluid and if it keeps happening, change the converter, if still happens, u need a new tranny.

Also you may want to check the mount for the tranny. Usually starting and stopping will cause the tranny to jerk around alot when the mount is bad.

well, try this, when you come to a stop, and it starts to shake, take it outof gear into neutral, and if it doesnt stall, its your tranny, but if it still does, your ECU, or something else may be screwed up.

thanks for your guys help but i have been looking into this all day and i have been reading that it maybe tcc solenoid "tourqe converter clutch solenoid. have any of you ever heard of this before. the way it sounds it is a relativly easy fix but i have never heard of this part before.

Yes that sounds about right. I had my car diagnosed with the same problem in the past but it didn't stall. I think the part for mine was about $80 and labor wasn't much more. Good to hear it may not be that serious. Good luck!

Easy fix assuming it hasnt damage the converter, and or tranny
