automatic transmission upgrade?

i am starting to do some work on my 2001 civic lx, unfortunately automatic. i was considering doing a swap at first but then decided not to. i was wondering, when sohould i start worrying about upgrading the transmission and torque converter? or is it actually a good idea to do it at any time, like will it help the car accelerate faster if i upgrade my torque converter?

It's a kit that replaces some parts of the transmission. Try to do a seach on this site and you will find some mention to it. You will find that very informative. I think Derek said he found a place in Florida that sells a kit the the 7thgen.

if you arent gonna get boost i wouldnt get a shift kit aka overhaul kit. a torque converter is still a good idea, it will provide faster starts, better shifts and improves your gas mileage.

Is there any place that makes a sequential transmission for our car. I am looking for the style tranmission that are used in the wrc cars where you push the shift **** up to increase gear and down to lower the gear since rally trannys need to be bulletproof to handle that much tq you wouldnt need to worry about a basic turbo setup.

if your gonna boost you dont need to upgrade your tranny. Our tranny's. our auto Transmissions are shared with the RSX and the accord. So , the answer is yes they can handle quiet a bit of decent power.
Just be carefull off the line and get a dang tranny cooler! Tranny cooler is a must have for any mod!
