Starter Motor
Has anyone noticed that there is a different sounding starter motor on the VTEC VS the Base engine. Everyone can close their eyes and know its a honda when it starts. I wish my 2003 civic had the origional starter motor. The one on my car does not sound like a honda when you start it up.
??
Give me a break, you think this is a stupid question, take a look around on this site and then let me know what you think...ok....ok, and yea probably did take in too much fumes, when all my coolant leaked out and came through my vents today
ok lets get serious, the only diffrence between a vtec and a non vtec engine is the engagment of the vtec at 5000 rpm or whatever, everything else in the engine is similiar (to my knowledge), and vtec has nothing to do with the starter, so why would it be diffrent. you are probebly imaginng things dood.

i dont notice a difference in the starter motor of a vtec or a nonvtec, but i can definately close my eyes and tell you if its a honda. its got a really metallic after-crank spin to it. kinda high pitched for a starter.
i probably inhale more carbon monoxide than most, i work in a shop and we've kept all the doors closed this winter...so maybe i am crazy.
