Changing Manual Transmission Fluid

Okay, I'm having serious issues changing this transmission fluid

I found the drain bolt and the fill bolt.

I have a SRI intake and know where the sensor is to take and fill up top.

I'm in MD and it's snowed lately...

before the snow hit, I put the front end up on ramps, crawled under and looked around.

As far as I know you have to have all 4 wheels in the air to change the trans fluid (????) Am I correct in saying that.

When My driveway has about a 2% slope to it, and it didn't seem too safe when I started Jacking all the wheels off the ground. So I didn't change it then.

Then it snowed like hell now it's cold and crap, and I would need to find a plowed, paved, flat parking lot to change it in.

I went to jiffy lube with my Honda Transmission fluid, then said they would charge $30 to change it. So I thought it was worth it becuase of the weather. Then when i got thier they said they wouldn't change it, cause it's hard to get too.

WTF ?

I'm freaking baffled.... Looking under the car, I just can not see how it is normaly possible to use a funnel and fill the fluid throught the fill bolt, that is so far up under the car, there is no place to put the funnel.

A DIY on this would be really helpful... or any other hints are appreciated.

Someone had the same issue with this recently (about a couple of weeks ago). Try searching for it..

Edit: Nevermind, that was you. I wish someone would do a DIY on this, also.

how about a funnel attached to a hose?

I haven't seen the hole myself but it looks like that might be able to get down inside the confusion of our engine bays.

you need to use a funnel with a fexible hose so you can put it through the filler hole. also it needs to be long as hell also. i saw how honda did mine, they used a bottle with a pump, sorta like one of those economy sized ketchup bottles with a pump on the top. they lifted up my car and basically pumped it in like sauce.

its very easy to change the fluid...

to put it back in ... go buy a squirt water bottle and use that... thats what i use ... other then that.. goto pepboys.. they sell a bottle with a straw connected to it .. its like 2 bucks...

and u dont even need to jack the car up to get to the bolt... i change my fluid without jackin the car.. i access the bolt from the top..

btw my car is about 2 inches off the ground and i still have no problems

try harder.

The car has to be level or you wont get enough in. Either all 4 on the ground and do it through the top (take the intake off, you can get down there or jack all 4. If the driveway isn't flat and you have no garage, do it in the street... shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to drain and re-fill.
