I searched for this, but nothing even came close. I talked to a guy that has some 62mm throttle bodies, and he said that all gen Civics can use eachother's throttle bodies. He has a Gude one, and a BBK one that came off of 2000 SOHC Civics. Does anyone know if these will fit mine, because the price is right. Also, if I get a bigger throttle body, will that affect me CAI? Thanks.
i would ask DH-racing..... they make them for our civic and they would know for sure. .... you can prolly find one of their posts in the Group Buy section... i beleive they have one going for intake manifold/throttle body
If your car is a 7th gen, NO. Let me tell you why. 6th gen and older have a throttle body that sucks in air from the left side. 7th gen throttle bodies suck in air from the top and are a completely different design.

the throttle body is different and will not work. DH ...at the moment does not have a NA application intake maifold, and at the moment does not offer a throttle body for the 7th gen.
You can however get your stock throttle body bored out.

How about giving everyone on the site the $ to get a turbo.. To answer your ? If you want to get a bigger bore TB, just send your stock to DH or to a machine shop as djmota said. That's the only choice we have right now. Joined: Jul 2003

Everyone is right, our TB's have sensors in them unlike the older gen's. The only option now is to have it bored the old fashion way. DH is working on making a TB for the D17's.

Gude does not "make" one. they sell bored out stock ones for the 7th gen.
No one as of yet has stepped up to make one. I think DH will be the first.

October issue of Honda Tunning has a very interesting article on Turbocharging D sohc series engines.
And it seems that some parts like throttle bodies/ fuel injectors etc, can be used with little modifications from older Hondas including Acuras into our D17.
HT didn't mention a D17 power plant but a lot of parts from D16 engines are very similar to D17.
Also consider that there is a hole assembly to the intake consisting of many parts.
Our housing is made out of plastic but the main air intake is metalic.
(alumminum manganesioum alloy)
That's the part you want to tinker with.
And to answer your question it will have a change in size and may affect the fit of the air intake but since there are only 2 or 3 different sizes in the Honda family it may just be the same.
Also there are silicon connectors made to go from big to small etc.
Good luck let us know how it will work out

There will be a throttle body for the 7thgens real soon. They will be as large as 72 mm and they are billet aluminum. They are made by the same man that brings you the Erick's racing and RPS Service throttlebodies.
Does anyone have a definitive answer for the diameter of our stock throttle bodies??? My machine shop guy needs to know so he can figure our what size plates he can get from his vendor.

, but I lack the type of measuring device that can accurately measure an inside diameter. If I had one, then I would have already don that. The Evil Genius

what will be the horepower difference with the new throttle body? maybe 3 t o 5 horse power. and with a new intake manifold bore out.. maybe all together were talking about 10 horsepower together.

you are not gonna get those type of gains on a non ported N/A car.
Here is a tid bit of info for ya.
I measured my stock intake manifold since its out, and the stock intake manifold opening is a measly 59mm
I would be willing to bet that this is also the ID on our throttle bodies.
One thing I have been wondering about is after being bored out more than 1 mm the manifold will no longer be able to hold the original (blue shaped o-ring) seal.
So what then?????

Why would you want to do that??? You would still be restricted to 59mm at the opening, which would make boring out the rest pointless. The whole idea is to open up the whole TB and allow more air to flow into the intake manifold. So by leaving the opening at 59mm then you have thus not changed the bore at all.
