this is not a d17 7thgen sohc civic vtec "I KNOW", but in the US market how many solenoids (the one which is encircled) do you have on your 7thgen sohc civic vtec? it is also located there on my 7thgen civic (got two of those) and what RPM points does your vtec engage? mine is at 2,500, 4,500 and 6,000 RPM that is what i feel(3 stage vtec) thnx!

From what I know, vtec is always on. It changes cam profiles around 3K rpms, as proven by the vtec light DIY.

To answer your question... I don't see it but might not be looking hard enough. Where is it located? On the same exact spot as the one shown?

oh i see your 7thgeneration is different from the 7thgeneration civic in the Philippines, mine has two solenoids in it and is a 3 stage vtec, does this mean that our ECU (computer box) are different????

most likely our ECU are different. Maybe we DO have two. Are they located at the same spot? I just took a quick glance.

yup they are located at the same spot, i only see one solenoid then it means that the 7thgen civic in the US is only a 2 stage vtec, gosh my dream project just crumbled!!!! i was suppose to buy a extra headcylinder and build it here in the US were all the mods are available,

are the internals (camshaft, valvespring, retainers, camgears, seals) of the 7thgeneration (USA 2 stage vtec) different from my 7thgeneration (PHILPPINES 3 stage vtec)
