Painting Exhaust????
Painting Exhaust????
I'm just wondering if anyone has tried painting their exhaust with heat resistant paint from the cat back? I've been thinking of doing that (buying the engine paint for $5) and spraying it. GOOD IDEA? BAD IDEA? WHY ? ANYONE DID IT?
my freind just got done rebuilding a 68 impla lowrider and put a new engine and exhust on it we painted the headers and everything else the paint fell off after about 3 months and it was good paint with ceramic in it to help disapate heat.bad idea
please dont paint it, it looks horrible. i seen some cars around my area with their exhuast painted and it looks like crap. the best color for exhuast is chrome or polished, always has been and always will.
PLUS if you paint it it will make your car heavier. even 1 thin coat of paint on the exhuast will make u lose about 4 hp cuz of the weight gain and you dont want that

Well ... my 2.25" piping and muffler gets REALLY hot.... don't know what other people's Civics do ... but I'm kinda worried about mine on rainy days...... kinda like sprinkling droplets of water onto a dry pan on a burning stove. *shizzle* .... CAN ANYONE TAKE SOME WORRIES OFF MY BACK?
Well..... how would I treat the one I have now ? Maximizing my investment while minimizing my $$..
The body shop I got it done at... had a Sh*t load of 2.25" PIPES just piled up in a corner....... he took one of the pipe... cut it to size..... bent it ...bolt to CAT ..weld to Muffler. blah blah.. ba da bing ba da bang....... CUSTOM CATBACK..
