Painting parts under hood.

I went to advance auto today and got what i think i need. I am wanting to paint the wire cover, fuse boxes, battery tie down and the hood prop thing. This is what i got: A can of Dupli-Color grey primer sealer, A can of plasti-kote high temp engine paint in Ford Blue, And a can of Dupli-Color high temp clear coat. The high temp is 500 degree paint is this good enough or does it get real hot? Will this turn out glossy and proffessional looking with haveing the clear and primer? I need to know how to apply it. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO PREP THE SURFACES B4 I PUT PRIMER ON? hOW MANY COATS OF THE PRIMER, BASE, AND CLEAR. hOW LONG BETWEEN CATS? hOW LONG OF WAIT BEFORE PUTTING BACK ON AND DRIVING CAR?Accidentle caps lock.

thanks,
chris

Anyone got any pics of the engine parts done in blue?

clean off all parts with soap and water. Give them a light rub down with rubbing alcohol. Spray with 2 coats of primer. Spray with about 2-3 coats of paint. Clear coat until you think it looks fine. LET DRY FULLY BETWEEN EACH COAT. TAKE YOUR TIME!!

I have my parts done in Ford Blue 260 I believe. It is a dark blue. My fuse cover, battery tie down, and my intake are all painted that color. sorry no pics as of now.

Also, Please remove the picture in your signature. It is WAY TOO big and there is nothing there. Thanks.

I don't know how it got screwed up. It was a small banner and now it is a huge damn white space? Anyway, Thanks for the help. Thats the same paint i got, the ford blue. WHat intake do you have ? did you paint it with the ford blue or does it match the ford blue pretty good? I want an intake that comes in a color similar to ford blue.

Thanks,
Chris

my intake is "home made" out of exhaust piping. It is painted to keep the heat out and to make it look nicer. It does its job.

This is an old picture. Everything is still blue though. I just sanded and painted. Stays fine.
