driver door problem!

i have just bought a used '01 civic lx coupe, and i have just noticed that when i closed the door i hear it hit something before it shuts all the way, and when i set the ceiling light to turn on when a door is open for some reason it doesn't turn on for the drivers door but only for the passenger side. So could the lighting be from a blown fuse or something? And what could the hitting of the driver door be?

haha thanks, i figured out why the ceiling light wasn't turning on for the drivers side, the spring was broken. And for the door, im kinda suspicious that they have replaced the door and didn't angle it correctly...

Look for metal wear around the latch mechanisim. Can you lift up and down on the door and will it move if so could be worn out hinge maybe? Could be that the somerhing is just a little bit out of alignment

Could be something loose inside the door panel. Maybe a loose speaker?

I would think that the dealer could take care of it, or a body shop

well, carfax shows up that the car is all good, but i was informed by the owner that the car was broken into and system and stuff was jacked from it. And he said that in the process of entering the car they smashed up the side of the door, and i looked at all the maintenance that the car had went threw, and it showed that the car had some replacements at the dealership. so i don't know but i'll go take it to the dealership and have them fix it.
