can stock air box get hydroflooded?

hehe lemme just say that i'm DAMN glad i sold my CAI earlier this summer...
let's just say that i was driving, and it was dark, and raining...

anyways.. can the stock air box get hydro flooded? when i went over a puddle today, my car was still running fine, but when i popped my hood at the local gas station, i saw bits of water in my engine bag, and a little in the stock intake's pipe... i'm pretty sure that no water actually made it inside the intake manifold, and my car starts up normally and runs normally. so there shouldnt be any damages to my car, correct?

thanks for listening

for this to actually happen you would literally have to submerge your intake in water. ask Hawk he can tell you!!! thats how he got his k20a2!!! lucky bastard

The stock airbox won't suck in water unless the whole car goes in a lake. Drops from outside won't make it all the way to the engine, since the intake tube is so long, and there's a resonator inbetween.

the hole for the intake has to be submerged in water. I would worry about other damage tho...water leaking into some fluilds, electrical shorts, but hydrolock can happen if you are in hood depth water.
