Wouldn't that be a warranty issue?

Yeah, battery, radiator hose, airbox......etc. Seems like a lot of work just for the tranny. I'd probably still drop the subframe (as honda intended) - lot less crap to worry about when putting it back together.

I dont really necessarily call it crap, but necessary parts, and really its just nuts and bolts, I've taken off my subframe before and I know its really hard to do especially by yourself, there i like no way you can put it on, by yourself

Less crap to worry about? Do it that way then tell me how much of a pain in the *** it is. I took the tranny out of my old 01 EX by taking out the subframe. Oh there is more than the sub frame to take out, like the down pipe of your exhaust, 3 of the 4 motor mounts cause they are connected to the sub frame. Getting the sub frame to line up to connect the control arms on the install was a b*tch. Don't for get about the 20 something suspension bolts you have to take out and torque back correctly. I never thought about taking the tranny out from the top because I followed Hondas way too. I'll never do it that way again. Ask Chris(Prod) about taking the tranny out of my old 01 EX. He helped me with it. It was not an easy job to do. Too many parts to take out. Took about 12hours total. And that was with 4 guys. I can't wait to see this DYI. It will be very helpful for when I take my tranny out of my 03 EX.

i changed my clutch without removing the tranny from the engine bay once cause i knew removing the subframe would be time consuming.what did you have to do to remove it from the top?
