I don't know. I was thinking about this also because the A/C weighs a ton. Check around the forums. I know I've heard about this before. There is also something you have to do, otherwise it will become unusable once removed. Something with the condenser.

one out of the three of my cars that i have owned so far was ac-less. you don't want to loose yours. if you want, remove your passenger seat and rear bench... that's where all the weight is.... spare too. oh yeah and all the ice.
lol lol lol na i dont **** ton loads, 4 times a day like u, and na i dont need ac i dont drive everyday, and i do need my passenger and back seats, so no one knows how to answer this question huh???

Removing your A/C system isn't a good idea IMO, because if the A/C isn't on then the only power loss from the engine is to turn a idle compressor pulley, and I doubt its enough to even show on a dyno.
If you want to just lose it just for weight loss then I'd go a differnt route because the heaviest part of the A/C system is the compressor and it might weigh 20 lbs at the most. I'd say the most weight you'll loose is 50 lbs. total and thats including the compressor, condenser, and rubber and aluminum lines. You could loose some weight by removing your spare tire along with the jack.
If you do decide to remove the A/C then make sure you seal off all the line openings on the compressor, condenser, and evapoator and dryer tightly, and store them in a dry low humidity area. That way if you do decide to replace the system it won't be contaminated with moisture.
As far as the power steering goes, I'd say removing that is insane, unless the car is strickly for racing. My 03 Si has electric power steering and I don't think there's much gain in horsepower. Plus just removing the PS pump, you'll still have to replace it with a idler pully and you'll still have the PS rack, so the weight loss and power gain from less drag would also be minimal.

if you really want to, first get the DH-Racing pulley. It adds 20hp by completely bypassing the a/c and p/s. It comes with its own belt that, from what I understand, doesnt even go around them. Then you can take them completely out with no affect on the belt. And it has proven HP gains.
yeha i understand u guys, but what i wnana do is lose the from condenser, u know the part that looks liek a front mounnt intercooler, i wanna drop that, what i wanna know is that if i lose that will i have to lose n e thign else, or can i just remove teh condenser n thats it?? do i have to remove the hose lines n thats stuff, please answer back , thanxs

(and get a spell checker
lease: ) if you upgrade the crank pulley while you're at it, you get good gains. Did you not see the thread on here a while ago about the DH Racing crank pulley? adds about 20 hp. Its a huge (or small, i dont know) crank pulley, and it bypasses the a/c and p/s.
ur stupid
'too bad if i had my car full of fat women all at about 300 pounds each and all my ICE.... id still beat you starting off in second gear. "
ur car... =2700 lbs
so lets u have 4 fat women and they weigh at about 300 lbs each 4x300=1200lbs
ur ice =80lbs
total weigh=3980 lbs
ur so stupid! remember u only have a d17 turbo....even u have a k20 turbo running 15 psi
u still cant take me in 2nd gear..... ex. mustang 3500 lbs.....350 hp still smoke by an s2000
u better think stupid! lol

Going by your logic. If I have a 17 lbs road bicycle. I can beat a twin turbo 4500lbs supra..........is that what you are saying?
If you really want to just remove the condenser for some reason it is real simple. You have to take the front bumper off. THere are two lines that go to the condenser, they are both held on by 10mm bolts, remove those and the two brackets that hold it on top and your done. The rest of the lines are easy to remove. Like everyone said, seal everything up just in case you want to put it back on. Also it's a real good idea to have the refrigerant removed at a shop. I just took mine apart because my car is off the road for the winter, so i couldn't get it to a shop. THere is a ton of pressure in there, and it's real bad if you breathe it in, and illegal too.....the condenser only weighs about 2 lbs, and the lines are only about a half a pound.

i dont have any AC everything associated is gone, and please tell me how it would affect ur defrosters, the back is a damn wire all over the window, the front uses heat, and without the AC heat is not a problem to get, just use a smaller belt, my belt has the word MITSUBISHI all over it, keep ur power steering, who wants to drive a turbo and have to yank the steering wheel to get it to turn, and if ur gettting a turbo or got one already, then hell dont worry about hp gain losses, ull make up for it big time with the turbo, and saying the AC only weighs 20 pounds, please all u people takeing the spare tire out hell thats 20 pounds if not less, so taking both out would be 40 pounds
