DIY: weight reduction question

do the bumper reinforcements and side impact door beams weigh a lot...how much are they??? do they make any weight reductions???

You're going to give up the safety of your car just to make it a bit lighter?

It's a Civic! Live with the fact that it's slow! I sure as hell wouldn't take out those reinforcements. I value my safety.

If you seen what happens in accidents for that 10 pound weight deduction, you will realize thats a bad idea. :x There was alot of discussion about the dsm and jdm evo8's bumper reinforcement specs. To save weight or go with a jdm front end.. its not worth it when you see pics of a modded bumper reinforcement in a 10mph accident.

off hand I'd say total weight lost for those mods to be around 50 LBS. Prey that you never get in to an accedent though.

Think, how much speed is your life worth?
