Maintenance Tips needed

I am buying a 2004 Civic EX soon and would like to know the best way to keep it in good condition. Things like how often should I have the oil changed, get a tune up and anything else that you think is important. Thanks.

Oil change is the most important. I would go every 3K or 3 months just to be safe. Buy a K&N OEM air filter and clean it every 10K. If you have an auto, change the tranny fluid every 15K. Check plugs every 20K and replace if bad. Use a fuel system cleaner every other oil change. I think that's all

well what i did was i looked at the sheet that actually states what is done to my car at those intervals. when it was time for my 15k maintaince, all the sheet really did was change the oil, change tranny fluid, change valve cover gasket, and adjust the valves. the rest of the stuff was really a rip off cuz they do nothing but "check" to see if stuff is ok. so, if you know a little about cars and about your car in general, you'll know what maintaince you can ignore or you can do it yourself.

Most of it you can DIY. No need to pay hundreds of dollars for an oil change and looking at stuff.

Change the auto tranny fluid at 15K? thats insane, and expensive. Tranny fluid should last, at LEAST 50K miles, I forget, but the honda change schedule is 60K which is more than fine. 5K oil changes have been working for me fine, the valves dont even start to tick past 3K. In austin itsabove 85 all the time, and usually in the 90s, and my oil comes out fine at 5K miles. Having looked over the scheduled maintenence, thier schedule seems to be good. I just replaced my air filter at 18K, but I drive on country roads some times, so it was a but dirty.

Oil- 3000-3500 or 4 months
Tranny-60000 )whoever said 15 is a dumbass, thats extremely excesive)
Spark plugs- 40000 or more
check breaks every 6 months
rotate tires every 8-10k
None of these things will void your warentee, if your worried about it or dont want to do your own work get honda care.
