Check this out:
http://blackstone-labs.com/
They send you out a free "Test Kit" which allows you to sample your oil. You than send them your sample, and for like $20 or so they tell you what they find in your oil. From what I see they can tell you ahead of time if you are going to have problems or not.....Sounds like a good deal, can't wait to ge my kit!

If you bother to read the site, FAQ's, etc - you would see that these tests tell you how good the oil you are using in your car is working (ie if you use Mobil 1, will it work for your engine vs the OEM honda oil). They show certain amounts of metals and other elements in your oil which will lead to premature failure. In other words its a good predictor to see how well your engine is holding up.....
This would benefit turbo owners tremendously - ie take a sample before adding a turbo, than take one 3000 miles after with turbo and see how much faster your engine is wearing with the oil you are using.

Yeah - I found it off of:
http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/
It has a forum as well - it is one of the most respected sites around for oil testing / results. They have a forum on their message board that people post their test results to - its called UOA, or universal oil analysis (I believe). There seem to be some good results with the honda 5w-20 oil, as well as good ol' mobil 1. Others, such as royal purple don't seem to fair so well. Its a good read.....
