hid bulbs? or hid-look bulbs? cuz if they're HID-look bulbs, and the wattage is too high, yea, you'll fry the wires.. if it was an actual HID bulb, there would be an HID kit that would make it safe..

yea.. thats what i figured.. if yer installing the bulbs on a 7thgen, make sure the lights are 60/55w bulbs.. any higher and the bulbs will draw too much current and the wires will fry..
i have 60/55w liteglow bulbs that have either a 90/85w or 130/100w look..

They are right don't use crap bulbs. Make sure they are the right wattage and made of quality quartz glass. I have heard of bulbs melting and destroying the wire harness. Its just not worth it.

not even 400 man.. you dont necessarily have to go with a real HID kit.. just hook yourself up with an upgraded wiring harness to handle the higher wattages, and hook it up with PIAA hyperwhites... 120 max...maybe 150-200 including labor if you want the wire harness installed professionally

what are you talking about? he is talking about frying the wiring harness on his accord that he has on right now!! he means the engine harness that all the wires are connected to. The hid kit costs around 600.

so what is everyones opinion on these hid "look" bulbs...yes I know they are cheap, but I was more concerned with them being safe for my car. I was given a pair of these for free by a friend. I figured, why not give em a try. They are rated 60w /55w but are 110w/90w look.
Should I try em or don't even bother...

Like I said though, I have used 3 different types of overwatt bulbs in the last 2 years and never had a problem: Nokya arctic purple, Eurolite Xenon crystal, and some other japanese brand CNS or something. Of course this is ina 7th gen civic. I don't know what the harness in your accord can tolerate.
