i got to ride in/drive my friend's 20th anniversary GTI, and i loved the sunroof setup... just turn the **** (which was right in front of the sunroof, next to the map lights)
sorry.. i know its kinda OT, but i was envious of his auto sunroof...
oh, and it has autodown driver and passenger side windows..and you can feel the turbo kick in at 2700RPMs...

MY brother has the dial switch in his 2003 Jetta 1.8T. Its killer.
So you honestly think just putting the switch from the auto down window would make it work, nothing else needed. If so then Im on it.
My buddy has an aftermarket sunroof in his 03 Accord LX. Its a bit bigger than stock and was installed by the dealership with a lifetime on it. He has one touch open, one touch close, one touch vent. Also when he turns his car off, the roof automatically shuts.

thats not the alarm doing it, its a module triggered by the alarm that rolls the windows

You'll need more than just a switch, you'll also need the power resistance sensor, that part tells the window motor to shut off when the window is down. Its probably part of the internal window motor on the drivers side and you might need the whole motor and switch.

cant you just take an auto-down motor/sensor/whatever thats used on a driver side window and swap it with the passenger one? or something like that...

That would cool.
However my driver window will now only auto down 1/4 way every time I hit the button
Once in a while it will go all the way down.
Has anyone esle had this issue?

yes; i read something about it. Spray the window seals with 100% silicone spray. You know, the seals on the door? Honda does a real good job of sealing things up; a little too good.

Auto sunroof would be really cool to have.. The auto passenger window isn't a very big deal to me though! Hopefully someone finds out how to do the sunroof thing..

i think it might sense the restriction, just like we've been talking about
Another alternative, which I think would work pretty well, is to time it. Say it takes 7 seconds for the sunroof to open. Have a button that, when you press it, it essentially holds down the "sunroof open" button for 7 seconds. Have another button for close. Wouldn't this be pretty easy to do? I don't know a lot about electronics, but the concept seems pretty simple.

I got the auto-down passenger window set-up for the past 6 months. went to scrap yard and took apart a SI driver side door panel and took the switch and module that was part of it. Took 30 min. to hard wire to my passenger door....very convienent (spelling?)

this means:
battery is lower than normal, itll take longer than 7 seconds.
to try this, get a stopwatch, lower one window and time it, then, turn on the a/c, the defroster, the headlights, and turn up your radio, time it.
even slower, turn on everything and roll down all the windows at once.
