120 octane in a civic...
120 octane in a civic...
i wanting to know what 120 octane will do to a civic? i sure as hell know that it cant be good whatever it is. i know a guy whos brother has a 6th gen (looks like ***) and all the mods hes got done is a cone air filter and a muffler. the other night he was talking about how he was going to be putting 120 octane racing fuel in it. i didnt say anything, but i was laughing all over on the inside.
It will not blow your motor. It will, on the other hand.........
A. drain your wallet ($5.00/gallon in NH)
B. clog your cat (unless you have no cat or a punched cat)
Like someone has stated already. It is completely pointless to put it in your car unless you have a high compression motor or you have some sort of forced induction.

It isn't gonna do anything good... the engine may not even want to burn it.
At the least it will run like ****. The octane rating is the gasolines resistance to detonation... which is why you need either massive boost or insane compression to run 120. Just run 87. If you wanna get pissy then use 93. I race on 87 all the time and my engine loves me for it.

It wont do a damn thing.. All that higher octain fuel does is burn cooler. The higher the octain, the cooler it burns, there for, keeping your engine cooler under lots of load. Wont hurt him, but it wont help him at all either! However, if he were to run a fuel with an oxygenater (sp) in it like a VP Fuels MR2, he would gain a great deal of power, but it might throw off your computer because you have to jet up like 15 sizes when running it, so I'm not sure if the computer could handel it on a fuel injected car.

Methane!!! Try that! Or Nitro fuel! Haha
I had a friend put 110 octane in his neon and he melted the welds on his exhaust. It fell off while he was driving.
