aem sri

Please help me, I'm confused. I just received my aem sri intake for my 2001 sedan lx manual. My confusion is that there are 2 hoses to connect the pipes and the intake to the manifold. One is all rubber black and the other is blue with orange inside and says aem on it. Which one am I suppose to use to connect the intake to the intake manifold? Thanks in advance.

In DIY Section should be about the same cause it is the same brand, mine was really easy with the instructions that came with it...

Try searching first next time

I did do a search and did look at the diy, but the hoses used in the diy are different from what I got. In the instructions it does not say which hose to use at the manifold, if it does it does not make much sense to me.

Pick one...They are the same thing. If you like all black, use the black one. If you like the AEM one, use that one. There is no difference.

Ok, the box came with the two hoses and neither one of them looks like a stock replacement hose. All i know one is all black and is a reducer hose and the other is blue. I think the black one goes on the manifold but when I put it on the intake pulls away from the manifold when I bolt the other end to the bracket like instruction call for and the hose stretches. It just doesnt look right.

A Hose is a freakin hose. Just put on one there, it doesn't matter. Hell if you want, dont even put one on, you can put a filter on the valve cover and plug up the intake hole... IT DOESN'T MATTER! Just use the damn AEM one, it came with the kit.

CapYoda has a spectacular aura aboutCapYoda has a spectacular aura about
its not a hose..

its the rubber adapters..

its a SRI for a DX/LX right? that means the 2nd tube/pipe has a weird bend to it.

take a pic of the adapters if u can.

are they different in shape in anyway? like one bends a different way?

I'm guessing the reducer is used to connect the pippings, and the other one is for the throttle body adapter... (to connect to the throttle body which is on the intake manifold)

from what I remember in the pics, I dont see a reducer adapter on the throttle body.. so use that one to connect the pipes.

hope this helps.

Ok, I figured it all out lastnight. The rubber reducer hose is used to attach the intake to the intake manifold because the intake itself is larger than the manifold. The two pipes are the same size in diameter so I used the second hose to attach those since it was not a reducer. I know this all sounds stupid to tell you now but I didn't know this at the time because my stock intake was still on and I did not want to take it off untell I was for sure how to put the new one on. Again thanks for all your help.
