removing ac and ps belts for racing ?
again, if it's for one race, it doesn't matter ... and if he's your friend who you race all the time, then it matters less...
unless you want to permanently take off your ps belt for good, then it's not worth it.
I too have a friend like yours ... you and me are pretty much in the same shoes ... here's my car vs. his:
'02 ex - aem cai, 2.25" custom exhaust, no ps belt, no spare tire, worse driver, 15" 7 spoke alloy si wheels, ground wire kit, revo ss
'99 ex - aem cai, greddy evo exhaust, no ps belt, 14" stock wheels, better driver, ground wire kit, matrix ss
we ran EXACTLY the same all the time ... I couldn't beat him and he couldn't beat me ... this was after 3 runs... each of them starting from a roll on the freeway... going 50mph-115mph
soooooooo... I invested some money in a kamikaze header and a 2.5" downpipe and after I got those, we ran again ...
it was from 50-110mph ... we ran and he got a 1.5 car length head start (I fell asleep when he said go lol) and by 110, I ended up pulling 1.5 car lengths ahead of him ... so in total ... 3 car lengths. He wasn't racing badly either ... he knew he lost fair n square...
now if you wanna remove your ps, I say it's not worth it ... just buy a header or a downpipe ... or both ... haha
btw... we don't have ac belts ;P

yes, your car is NOTICABLY more difficult making turns ... it's a little harder when you are actually driving ... but if you have anywhere to parallel park, then don't even bother
making u turns is a bitch
the only noticable gain I noticed from no ps belt was a little bit of low end ... I didn't notice high end

removing the ac belt will not help you ac only uses power from the egine when turned on ac uses a freespining clutch that only activates when turned on and as for power sterring that is a pump thats on all the time i dont suggest taking that off you will need that just in case you have to quickly adjust (coming from someone who knows just stay safe) if you wanted a quick fix measure you intake go to the hardware store and buy some plastic drain pipe it looks like a slinky remove your airbox cut a peice and throw it on it works. Good Luck
