Power Windows - Stock Parts
Well, here is a question for you... I want to install power windows in my DX Coupe. I was thinking about getting one of the Autoloc or SPAL kits, they look fairly easy to install. However, I thought that if I got the actual Honda parts (say, from http://www.HondaAutomotiveParts.com), I could create a setup that worked and looked just like the stock power windows.
I went to the dealer today and flipped through the manuals. I found the electrical diagram of the window system for an EX, and it is pretty ugly. They use a ton of relays and harnesses, and they also have the Power Window Control Unit, which the need for confuses me a bit.
So, here is my question, is anyone familiar enough with the way the power windows come stock from Honda that they could tell me what I need to get to install these things? I am thinking I might not need all the relays and harnesses, but just to figure out what needs to be powered to move the window up and down, etc.
Any input would be cool.

imp: Your best bet would be to go to a junkyard with a LX/EX civic and buy the door/window components. I tried looking at local junkyards, but most complete doors I found were sold as a whole, and for $200-$500 each.
I remember that I had your idea as well. I looked at Hondaautomotiveparts.com (THE MOST COMPLETE GENUINE HONDA PARTS ONLINE CATALOGUE; even better than H&A)
Each motor was something like $170, then you would need switches. But more importantly, the harnesses. The wiring of a DX is missing the plugs and sockets that EX/LX doors have becaue of power windows and doorlocks. What I originally thought was, that they were present, but just not being used (because DX = no powerwindows/doorlocks).
I'm guessing that it might not be too hard to power the motors, because the power enters through a main wire. (see wire to the LEFT OF #17 in picture)

Just get oem switches and plug them into the oem window motor, so that the only thing you'd have to worry about is figuring out the power wire (the positive and negative, maybe ground should all be in there).

Thanks for the reply. I did a good deal more looking this afternoon, and I think I am finding the info that I need. Your reply is on track with what I am finding, and what I am coming around to thinking myself. I got a close-up photo of the actual window regulator (part 2/8 in the photo) and it looks like the plug for the harness has a total of 4 posts. I am thinking there is a ground, a constant power and a signal for both up and down. It certainly seems that way from the wiring diagram too. I am going to hit up the junkyards in the next few days to see what I can find. There aren't a lot of junkyards around my area, and it seems to be slim pickings for fairly new Hondas... hopefully I will find something.
Worst case scenario I suppose I could order what I need from Honda Automotive Parts, but I am sure it will be a touch more expensive
Thanks!
