fuel pump problems
I just installed a fuel return line in an '01'. The stock pump will run at about 45
psi, but when I put a Walbro 255 in the tank I can only get about 15 psi at the
fuel rail. Anyone that has had this done or knows what I'm doing wrong please
let me know. Maybe the pump has to be wired differently, don't know. Also, I
tried putting a set of RC ENG injectors in but the were too long so the fuel rail
hit the throttle body and would not let them seal. Feeling pretty bummed.
Hope someone can help. Thanks.

all you do for a return line is first get your fuel rail modified with a fitting on the opposite end of the feed line, then run a line from the rail to a fuel pressure regulator, from the regulator the return line just runs back into the tank. simple as that.

What kind of fitting on the opposite end?? Could you provide a little more DETAILED info about this?
How difficult was it to install the walbro fuel pump?
Are you using a turbo/NA/Nitrous?
What size RC injectors did you try using?

the fitting is a 4-an fuel fitting that is welded to the end of the fuel rail.
the walbro fuel pump fit perfectly where our old fuel pump mounted and it wired up to the existing wiring using the stock plug. right now I have a ZEX kit installed on my car and it works very well, started upgrading the fuel system to get ready for a turbo. the injectors I installed were 440cc/min injectors.

Not trying to revive old threads - but did you ever figure out anything? If I remember correctly the stock fuel setup has a fuel pressure regulator in the tank (according to my Helm manual). This might be your problem.....What size Walboro pump did you use? I am trying to keep my options open about my fuel setup, so I need as much info as possible.....

He said he had a Walbro 255. Anybody who has done a return setup using an external FPR (as he basically noted he was) would have known to remove the FPR. Also, my return line uses a -6 fitting. It all depends on your fuel setup. 45psi on the stock pump is correct. 15 with a 255lph sounds like 2 things. The FPR isn't adjusted right, or the pump is bad.
