how do you paint a grill?

well.. how do you paint the grill that matches the cars color? for example i have an altezza grill. and i want to paint the boarders(not the screen). my question is, what do i need? primer, the paint itself and a clearcoat? or do i need to go to a paintshop and have them paint mine?

i would just take it to local paintshop. shouldnt cost more than 50 bucks to paint it. make sure you give them correct paint number,

i got my euro grill's lip painted to match my car for $30 bucks. Dropped it off, and picked it up the next morning. It took forever for the sedan radiator cover to come in though.

if you insist on painting it yourself yet, try wash it with soap water, sanding it down with sand paper (the part you want to paint only. Primer it, and then do 3 coats of the color (10 minutes between each coat). top it off wit 2-3 clearcoats .

It won't look the same if you do it yourself, unless you know about painting. I got mine done for $75--cheapest I could find.

Take it to a shop. No paint in the world is going to match a car companies colors perfect, and that's what you will have to have if you want it to look decent.

How about the side mirrors? How much would it cost to paint both sides? Do I need to take the motors inside away before painting?

It's best to have them do everything all at once, since they charge you for mixing the paint each time.

if you want painted mirrors.. look for ex ones from other members or somethign that "upgraded" to the m3 style or something.. cause im sure there are mirrors floating around that are already prepainted...
oh.. does anyone know if the coupe mirrors are the same as the sedan ones?

since you have a sedan, you could also get your front and rear chrome garnishes painted. just unbolt them and take 'em off. take it all down to a Honda Body shop. cost me $50 and it came out great.

HOLY ****!!! I got quoted to get my hood and fenders painted for $200 and thats the final cost. I know they do good work seeing that they painted my rear bumper after it was hit by some bitch in a Tracker on a cell phone.

They would paint a grill at the MOST $50.
