New Idea for Coupe Mod
I friend of mine from work (has a new Accord Coupe) was thinking of some new things he could do to his ride. One idea was to be able to make his rear side windows be able to go up and down like the front windows. I personally think this idea is pretty hot and would be pretty damn unique (for you show cars out there). Anyone out there know how feasible this is? I would imaging you can take the electrical stuff off a sedan, but there would be some decent fabrication needed (possibly making room for the window to go down, adding the window track, etc).

You would have to cut the body the to make sure the window could go up and down. You will also have to fit the mechanism in the rear of the body. I really don't think it is worth it. It is gonna cost a lot of money to do that, especially since you don't know what the frame/body looks like back there. It might not even have room for a window.

it would only go down about 1/3 of the way, the window is pretty wide and it would hit the wheel well. The only thing I've seen done similar to that is a window prop. where you hit a button and it props the window open at the rear corner. sorta like the rear windows on a van.

if you have access to welding and metal cutting equipment, you can take window tracks and motors from an old car and cut/weld to fit... if i had welding and cutting equipment i could probably pull it off in a few hours if the conditions were right
by conditions i mean if theres enough room inside the body to fit everything and enough clearance down low
a motorized prop on the corner as someone had mentioned is on the newer bmw 3 series cars, at least i know my friend has it on his 330... youc ould easily steap the motor and rig that whole operation...
now if you get a shop to do either, i see it as at least a thou

my prediction is around 1 to 2k. Just save the money and get something more worth while. If it is 2k than all you have to do is save up another 1,000 and get a turbo. That would make me turn my head more than seeing someones rear windows in a coupe role down.

What if you just pressed a button, and the windows flipped out like suicide doors on a Lamborghini? It'd be cool, but not if you leave them open while driving into a garage...heh...

If you're going for unique-ness in a car...something to totally blow away people when they're not expecting it...I suggest rerouting the windshield fluid sprayers onto the engine, then filling the windshield wiper fluid compartment with oil. It'd be bad for the car, but imagine the stares you'd get when you reach an intersection, hit the wipers, and FOOM! Get a Batmobile-like effect!
