blah blah blah....

anyway..yeah ill get flamed for this.....lol

i have gotten a "drag" style wing on my car....and i drive like crazy on the back roads i live on...anyway....i can feel a good bit of difference on my civic.....and to the idiot talking about the wing making your front end lift up....take a look at the size of a wing, and compare it to the size of your hood and front windshield....there is a little bit of difference...so the wing wont make the front end unstable.....
and yes the drag it creates is freaking major...my top speed went from
126...to now....110...so yes i think its doing its job.....anyway...yall can argue away...im just putting my 2 cents in....later guys....lol

Dingaling- I'm done arguing with you. Hence the "SHUT UP, IDIOT" Really just shut up. You can insult me all you like. I don't care. This was a thread for the discussion of the "effect of rear spoiler" if you can read the title. That's all anyone has done... except for you. Your a pompous little ***** and I don't like you. Say what you want, I don't give a $hit. Have your daddy (the mighty Aerospace engineer) allocate some wind tunnel time and have a "team of experts" test various levels of drag and static load exerted upon each tire. Even better, tomorrow, just come back and "pretend" that you did. Then all of 7thgendom will bow down to your mighty intellect.

Seriously kid, SHUT UP.

edit-
Now don't get me wrong. Feel free to continue the discussion. I just want you to knock off this thing you keep doing. Let me explain. When someone shares an opinion, you jump on it. You try to stomp the poor little opinion into the ground. When the other party tries to have a rebuttal you take a condescending and derogatory tone. That's it kid, let people have their opinion and express your own. Stop with this incessant arguing. I'm not going to delete the stuff above because I did type it. But I will retract a few things. I don't dislike you - I don't even know you. It's the way you have conducted yourself that I don't like. I don't think your a pompous little *****, your just acting like one. I'm sure you can be a decent guy, come on give it a shot. Here's what your so fired up about:

Someone posed this question. What is the "effect of [a] rear spoiler"?

Many have contributed to this thread. Most agree that almost all "factory" spoilers are a cosmetic piece. By that, they have no benefit to the handling of a car. You can look at rear wings from ford to Hyundai and see that most are for show. HOWEVER, some OEM pieces do seem to have some value beyond appearance. One such example is the OEM Civic coupe wing. It does have the "right shape" as I previously discussed. It also has a significant amount of surface area. I have offered my testimony that I in fact DID notice a small amount of added stability at highway speeds. Others have come, and added that they to have felt a noticeable change in their cars dynamics. Leave it at this:

A) Most wings do nothing and are for cosmetic purposes.

B) Some wings add a small amount of "noticeable" down force/stability.

On a Civic? Its just going to add weight. But I think the OEM spoiler looks good with a drop and rims. Then make your car fast... and then people wont ask you if your spoiler is functional.

i'm done. you are obvisiously not going to even consider that wing does nothing for performance were it counts. at "highway speeds"? i am guessing you are saying in excess of 80 mph, because that's were ur going to get it.

satansenemy-read the entire post before you come at me. the argument is based around performance were manueverability is the game. i implore you to jerk your wheel at 110. maybe there will be one less moron in the world.

diemos-THANK YOU. atleast someone has a brain around here.

and just because my dad has a aerospace degree, that doesn't mean he's an engineer, or have access to a wind tunnel. or even the resources to rent one, even at a discount rate. do you even know the costs for renting a windtunnel? they are way higher than i am willing to spend on proving some point that i have skull fuc|<ed into their head. you lose. you'll never win. you aren't a winner. i've already started linking to this post for my friends to laugh at your pitiful attempts at recovering from my posts. i don't even think i could come back from were you are right now. you can to beat me still, but i'll just continue you make you even more wrong.

for your info, cheukkin, i've got a 95 civic dx sedan. and HE ISN'T AN AEROSPACE ENGINEER. he has a degree. there is actually a difference. but i guess if you graduated from college, then you would know that. and what type of car do YOU drive cheukkin? go ahead say 7th gen civic. i won't be jealous. unless it's a sedan ofcourse, cuz those coupes look to stretched out.

why lock? this is fun. come one, come all, try to beat the mighty DINGALING (ha ha, inuendo) in a battle of wits.

come-on people dont stuup to his level.....making fun of someones car isnt cool...well unless its mine...lol
but the type dont make fun of it.......
anyway......i "think" let me say again..i think the wing helps a good deal in the turns...but has henderd my top speed......so it is a balance between the 2 that you have to try to find.....how much top end can you sacrifice....for the advantage in the turns......
a bunch of testing would have to be done......but im not up for it...i bought mine for the looks......
anyway.....lol
ill be back.....
btw...the best looking sedans are the wrx sti and evo VIII.....
mazda 6 doesnt look bad either....the 7thgen civic sedan looks good....
but i like the look of the coupe better.....just my opinion......

your first language isn't english, is it cheukkin? and wtf, the 95 civ sedan is a good looking car. i'm sorry i don't have a huge budget to go splurge on that lambo. and you quit because you don't make any sense. i won't make fun of your car, because it isn't a bad car. i, personally, wouldn't buy an acura, but my grandma sure does like hers. suck it, trebek. suck it hard, suck it long.

the mods must be finding my comments amusing or the argument valid. why do you want this thread locked so bad? i bet ur the type of person that clings to a site for a long time, then decides that he's been there so long, that he should be a mod. then he goes and starts ranting about how he should be a mod. well, g/l with that. must be fullfilling to be married to a website. i bet your kids will be hot.

wow, you are full of your self arn't you.

This thread did have some use, in the begining. Now its turned in to a pissing contest. thats why it deserves to be locked.

as far as wanting to be a mod? Nope. Although Ive been told a few times I should apply, it dosnt really appeal to me.
