Well, that was fun. I have a ton of pics for a nice DIY too.
All it cost me was time. Lots and lots of time. LOL It took the whole day actually. I scratched my valve cover a tiny bit, but you won't see it unless you look very very very closely. I'm planning to re-paint it a darker gray anyway, so that's allright. I also mangled a nut that's on the alternator. Not visible since it's under a rubber boot, but I'de still like to replace it with a new one. We'll see...
Anyway, results are favorable. The engine is silky smooth again from idle to redline. No more weird noises.

Good to hear Grey! I'll reference it when its time for mine to be done.
I have the Helms manual(and supplement). I havent been able to find a Chilton or Haynes yet.
