confusing about engine oil

ima use mobile1 5w-30 supersyn for my ex m/t.
but its kinda confuse cuz ppl say all different things around..
i did search but ppl just say this and that

some say i have to wait until 5k mi to change first oil esp for synthetic..while some say even if its kinda spending too much, engine would like 3 oil change before 3000k..
many ppl say to follow manual but i dont believe what manual says cuz it states everything a bit much such as regular oil change every 5k mi..

and one more thing that i wonder is..
5w-30 and 0w-20..which one is better for civic?
i heard mobile1 started to make 0w-20..
i wonder if 0w-20 make difference than 5w-30..

For the most part oil is oil . Stick with 5w-30 and a name brand and you should be fine. . I use Valvoline, but I wouldn't mind using Mobile 1, Castrol, or Pennzoil. I might be switching to Synthetic soon, but I'm not for sure. Anyways. as far as what the manual says. . I have my own theory on that. . hehe. . I posted it in this thread .

the new 0w-20 from Mobil is more for our Civic.

I'd grab that.

besides, Mobil recommends that one too.

I thought honda recommended using 5w20 in the civics engine? I heard that 5w30 would harm the engines internals

5w30 won't harm the engines internals. they 'recommend' 5w20, but 5w30 isn't that much of a difference (especially if using synthetic).

blckpwdr has been using 5w30 mobil 1 for 2 years and he said 'no probs' so it's really personal preference. honda also 'recommends' that you get your oil changed at the dealership so you get the OEM filter, but how many people really keep up with that.
