torque converter

how good are the torque converters on our cars? do they use a lockup clutch. When the two halves of the torque converter get up to speed, this clutch locks them together, eliminating the slippage and improving efficiency? are there any aftermarket converters out there for the 7th generation and what gain should one expect from them?

Hey man, I heard from a friend that if I was to upgrade my 7th gen vic converter it would be equivlent to having a turbo in our car. I have a website that sells the after market converters. http://www.hondatuningmagazine.com/t...1ht_converter/
and there you go man. I;m seriously going to get a after market one.=)
