The cam gear will not do much at all. Many be like 1whp at that. It will cost you around $8,000 for the K20A2 swap.

$8000 for the swap??? more like $12000... remember all the parts you gotta buy and extensive labor.

Yeah, that was like last year when it was first done. It's sad both of you aren't up to date.

You could find the engine as cheap as 3k to as much as 4k used. Labor is 1-2k which is 1/2 the price you guestimated.

I have the cam gear, it sucks with stock camshaft...
It does nothing at all...just wait for aftermarket camshaft and valve springs...

the cam will do minimal to nothing to your engine right now. The intake has nothing to do with cams

honda wants 8k for a new k20a2. at junkyards you can usually pick one up for 3-4K. hasport makes motormounts and everything else needed. you are looking at about 10-12k depending on whos doing the swap. and depending on a new motor or not.check out honda tuning dec. 2002 issue.

the cam has nothing to do with the intake? that's the first time I ever heard that. a high duration cam is pretty useless without some air filling the cylinders.

I think every mod are inter-related to each others...like getting an intake without H/E may not getting the full power from the intake...or vice-versa...

the tranny has to come with the engine, where do people get the notion that engine from a tollalled car don't include the tranny? what other tranny would come or be connected to a k20?

you're comparing a cam gear with no bolt-on power (gotta tune it, and there's no point tunning it when you got nothing else done)

to a k20a2 swap?

hmm.

and 7-8 grand is the ballpark I guess. its "cheaper" now.

I gotta say yes and no to that. Yes, because you can still use the cam to shift the power band a bit. No, if thats your only mod. You should do your intake as first mod always. I've founded that your car runs "hotter" if you don't. Thats if you do e/h first.
