CF hood won't lock into place
I took off the hood levelers but the hood still doesn't pass the first latch and lock into the 2nd one. I pushed with all my might and nothing. Any ideas I tried bending the latch but that doesn't really work i'm a bit affraid of breaking the latch and not having any support at all.

Yeah. . .and if the hood's supposed to have the latch work with the factory lock, then ask the company that made it how it might not be working.
Another option is to take off your bumper and see how it's trying to latch down. . . you should be able to see what's going on, then.
Just curious. . . has anyone else told you that your headlights look like the new Cavalier headlights having those covers on them?
And do your turn signals actually shine through them?

try seraching, there was a comprehensive fix to this problem.
the easiest and by far worst way to fix it is to notch the larger diameter hook on teh carbon hood. itll work, but over time it will wear the piece through.
the best fix is to notch the latch itself, but is very difficult to get the tooling in there. however, you will get reliability as well as a solid fix.
hunt down the last thread about this if you want the comprehensive info about it

hm...my cf hood seems like it wouldn't close when i first got it. Then I took it to my body shop, and they just push it right in no problem. The trick for me is to use BOTH hands, and push the hood where the notch on the hood is. But if u already messed with the factory latch, its might be hard to do it.
btw, if u install hood pins, can't someone just walk down the street just open up your hood and take your stuff? assuming you removed the stock latch

My Hood would have the sam problem. I saw that the latch wasn't going directly in the hole for it in the hood. I just used my thumb and bent it back a little and the hood locked tight.

the mechanical alarm sounds cool, but seems too complicated to install. Before bending anything, you should make sure you know what u are doing. Every product might be made differently.
I have installed a vented carbon fiber hood I got off ebay. And it locks in place just fine, but I went ahead and mounted the hood pins for extra safety. I would first off contact the company you purchased it from. That doesn't sound right for it not to lock in place. I am sorry to hear it.

Yeah, you need to adjust the latch and replace the spring with a weaker one. I got mine from Home Depot or Lowe's. The whole latch moves up and down. Just loosen the screws holding it down and move it up. Then tighten it back down when the hood fits properly. The little rubber stoppers also can be screwed in and out to further adjust the way the hood fits on the car.
