D17A2 swap question

I was wondering if we would be able to put our D-series in a hatch that held a D-series at one point or any other previous gen civic that had a D-series. Would it be a problem because of the fuel system? I was just wondering because if I do a swap I was thinking of just using that D-series for a daily commuter car. Cause after I swap I am not gonna wanna be leaving the 7thgen in the street all the time. Think I will need custom mounts???

Thanks guys and gals......

Some stuff will have changed because of the Mac Struts, so not everything will be in the same place. The old Civics also had Rod linkage shifters (we've got cable). I know the D15 and 16 were interchangable because I know a guy with a 5th gen DX hatch with a 6th Gen D16 in it, but I don't know that the D17 will be the same. It appears that enough has changed that they won't just drop right in.
