You can't just raise the redline. Its there to keep the engine together. You need better valve springs, higher lift, a better cooling system, more air flow, more fuel, etc.... to allow the engine to breathe and survive at higher RPMs.
Turbocharge it, Swap it, or if money is a no problem, just buy a different car, cuz you're not gonna go fast on D17 power.

if you have a k20, buy the Hondata chip, it will bring your 7k redline (si engine) to around 8. Search and I'm sure you'll find it. If you don't want that, Jet makes an ECU upgrade that can raise your limiter as well.

Just get a Mugen N1 ECU. 9100 Redline and 4700 VTEC shift, but they recommend new Valve Springs. Sets you back $1200 but I bet its worth it.
theres no point to raising your redline if you do no make power past your current redline..i will best any amount of money unless you have some differnt cams, intake manifold or head work in your k20 you will make minimal if not loose horsepower by reving the **** out of it... good luck...you also SHOULD replace your valve springs with stiffer ones so you dont float your valves....ack
and instead of buying the mugen ecu your better off spending the monda on the hondata chip....

turbo it.
That's the only real power adder to econo cars like ours. Adding aftermarket stuff like intake/header/exhaust won't be much help and just make your wallet lighter.
O, that reminds me. Replace current parts with lighter material (CARBON FIBER; not just the hood, but the trunk lid, and the fenders as well).
