DIY: Hood Pins Install
Materials:
- Dremel w/assorted attachments
- Drill w/ different size bits
- Tape
- Hood pins
Step 1:
Begin by removing the hood levelers(rubber thingy). Using a dremel, clear out the area of the bottom layer where the hood leveler touches. Use the sanding bit to smooth out the hole.
Step 2:
Put tape on the top of the hood over the area where you will drill through the top layer of the hood.
Step 3:
Put some grease or other marking material on the tip of the pins. Lower the hood so that it goes through the first dremeled hole and touches the CF. This marks your first point for drilling.
Step 4:
Drill with a very small bit from the bottom to the top. Use the grease marking as you drill spot.
Step 5:
Place the scuff plate on the tape and mark your drill points.
Step 6:
Using you template, drill out the center hole. Start off with small bits and move up until the pin can fit through the hole.
Step 7:
Drill a small starter hole for attaching the scuff plate.
Step 8:
Remove the tape and witness your masterful drilling. NO CRACKS AT ALL
Sand the center of the hole to make it smooth.
Step 9:
Drill down the scuff plate.
Step 10:
DROOL OVER YOUR BEAUTFUL HOOD!!!

i'm trying to get the hood pins on, but on the locations that you seem to put, there are the back of the head light and ac wires

I removed the bump stops from the frame and used those holes for the install of the pins.
here is a pic under the hood
the installer said that i shouldn't have the hood pins on the corner leveler
instead he is going to put a extender by the silver sticker that he is going to
revet on
how is ur set up working, how do u keep ur hood leveled?
do u use the rubber bumps on the middle of the chassis?
please post a pic how ur set up under the hood
