Exhaust System Question

I have a 02 Civic LX Coupe. I recently installed an Apexi N1 Universal muffler with 2 inch piping on it. The shop did not put a resonator on the exhaust system. I was wondering if I am loosing backpressure resulting in HP loss. I raced a 02 LX yesterday with an intake, rims and a system. He beat me. Can someone tell me if I am loosing power without the resonator?
There are alot of factors when you race and so I wouldnt put too much stock into the fact you lost to this other guy. They could be a better driver, have an enginer with tighter tolerances, etc.
As for you comment about the exhaust when you free flow the exhaust you end up getting a HP gain. You can lose some torque with less backpressue but usually its not noticable when racing cause you are using the HP band, not the torque. When you have a loss of torque you will feel it more from a dead start or when you are short shifting

this race was off a red signal and we both had a dead even start....i am not sure if his was a stick or not....I am sure that i have lost torque because his takeoff was much faster then mine...i really dont know if I should get a resonator put on or not....I would like my torque back but at the same time I would like to keep the same amount of HP.

oh yeah by the way his rims should have aftermarket tires....that could help him launch better since he would have more traction...i am still wondering about the weight issue though
