Smile Hi everyone!

Quick story and then on to the photos.
I've been driving a 1991 Ford Festiva for the past 8-10 years and it now has about 168,000mi's on it. The speedometer and odometer stopped working last year so I've learned how to blend and guess quite well. I finished up with the payments on my wife's Saturn and figured what the heck, I owe it to myself.
I read a bunch of reviews and decided to go take a look at one first hand after messing around with the build and price feature on the honda website.
I added the spoilers all arounds, fog lights; yep, got that lexan protectant film on the way already, thanks for the heads up!, and the carbon fiber dash inserts.
I found a place who had a few one in stock and set up a test drive time with me over the phone. My wife and i went down there for the drive and what do you think I saw as soon as I walked into the showroom?
Sure enough, I thought, it's the one i built online...it's just gotta be!
I had been led to this place at this exact moment for the sole reason of purchasing this particular SI
OK, maybe not that deep, but it was in the showroom when I first walked in and I purchased it right off the floor

My step-daughter (who works at a car dealers) said that finding one in Black, with the accessories on it that I wanted was awesome and i should jump on the find.
I did, and now only two days after finding this particular car, I am finding out first hand why it's been getting so many and such great all around reviews.
To sum up this short novel i've started here, I am very happy and satisfied with my new 2006 Honda Civic Si and feel very fortunate to have been able to purchase and enjoy it.
Here's a link to some photos that I just ran out now and took.
I'll get some better ones up here in a while.
I hope you enjoy them

congrats on the buy... that's how i felt w/ my impreza... i wanted all the features, but i was trying to find one w/ maybe some slight body damage since $350 of work for me means more like $3k worth of savings at a lot...

Thanks guys,

I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. I really do have to try to take much better photos one of these days. It seems like in every photo that I took there is something; like a pole, trees or whatever, intersecting the car or coming very, distractingly close to it in some way or other.
Whatever, right? I'm being way too critical of myself at the moment
I was gonna pick up an Acura TL from the same dealer that I went to for the Si. What does si stand for anyhow??? Sonic Injection? Sport induction? Sport injection? I'll stop guessing know, sorry.
The TL was selling for very close to the same price as the Si too. I guess I just looked at it logically and decided against the possible future insane repair bills that I may of had with the TL, but indeed a very nice car if one could afford a new one w/ a warranty.
With this gasoline price hike crap that's happening i'm seriously contemplating buying a low milage replacement engine for my Festiva (1.3L w/30-50,000mi) and dropping it in. I'd then be back on the road with a second vehicle that'd get 40-50 MPG path. I think that car has around 63 HP but it is fun to drive and quite zippy around town so i definitely won't get rid of it yet. I could then take my '77 Blazer off the road for a while.
WOW, way off track here people, sorry for the wicked tangent sidetrack of the life story of my cars...well a couple of them anyhow.
If you're still there, thanks for listening.

What are these LEXAN protectors you refer to. I know what lexan is but for what part of your car. Headlights, fogs, etc??

Where did you get them as I am picking up my LX sedan Friday.

Hi Kero,
The Lexan stuff that I mentioned is a protective film (20ml-40ml) which is sold by the company in bulk rolls, so that the customer may custom cut their own pieces or be able to pick up application specific sets for a whole mess of different vehicles. If you click on the logo below, it'll bring you to the Laminex web site Honda Page; where you can further research the product and search for your vehicle to see if they have anything for it. E-mailing the company before purchase,to be certain that they do carry something for your specific application may save you the hastle of receiving something that might not fit. Anyhow, I ordered some foglight protectors after reading several peoples posts about stones breaking their foglight lens's and decided that it would be a wise investment.
Now if this rain'll ever stop I might get a chance to go outside and install them...which by the way is very simplistic.

Hey,

Thanks for the info, makes total sense now. Why would not people put these on the headlights. Nothing like a little extra protection right.

Will check out the website.

The pictures are awesome and so is your new Civic! I like the background music on your site as well...it really fits with the sharp-looking black car...LOL. I had a black Civic once and I really miss that car. I hope you have a lot of fun years in store with yours!

Thanks guys. I got my fog light protectors a couple of days after I posted this and put them on dry without any problems.
They really are simple to put on and the piece of mind that they gave me is most definitely worth the $14 and change.

Hi vtec12,

Thanks for the welcome.
Yep, that's my '77 Blazer. I initially built it in my driveway and have continued tweaking and modding it for the past five years. It's a blast to drive and it's a nice feeling knowing that I put it together myself. A one of a kind
Now that i'm done with it, the freaking gas prices are insane and I think i'd have to take out a second mortgage loan in order to fill the 40gal gas tank.
Ay-yai-yai.
If I sold it though, i'd never get what i put into it, so it looks like i'll have this antique for quite some time yet
I pretty much just use it on weekends anyhow.

The Blazer actually got, not too bad milage at like 17 city/20+hwy
It has a ZZ4 crate engine in it wityh about 30,000 miles logged.
There's no way I'd sell it now. Maybe one day, but for now I'll just have a nice impractical toy
