Modified 2000 Si

I recently saw this site, where they went pretty far modifying a B16A3 in a 2000 Si civic.

They wanted to get the engine to the point where it can safely rev to 9000rpm, pretty impressive
They got it to 156.7 hp, thats huge if you ask me.

Looking forward to their next round of upgrades.

They used 63401 Crower cams which are ones Ive been looking at for some time.
They can give some nice mid range torque increases.

Nice article, thanks!

thats kinda odd b/c a stock b16a3 will make between 158-165 depending on surroundings and location. to rev to 9000K is not hard at all, all it takes is a set of valves and springs and a set of titanium retainers and the ECU set up so that it can give it fuel past the OEM Fuel cut which is at ~8250RPM. the valvetrain and hondata would make that easy. personally i dont see how that is too impressive, but then i dropping a B16A into my 99 si with full internals and all the fun stuff down in the bottom end, all it would take for me to rev out to 9K+ would be setting hondata to make a fuel table to supply fuel past the oem fuel cut. then add boost on top of it and it begins to get fun

Yeah I was wondering the same thing. I guess they emphasise "safely to 9000rpm" - perhaps it is usually not safe to do so
