Any regrets?
I own a 2002 EX, by the way, but lately I've been looking at the Si and it's been growing on me (despite it's outside appeal which is lacking). So I was wondering who here has traded in their EX or LX or whatever for the Si, and if you regretted it. I want to trade mine in for the Si, but I have a feeling I might regret it because of the power.

I would do it in a heartbeat....if the dealers were selling them at 15-16K like when they were trying to get rid of the '02. Id say go for the trade but wait for the end of the year or, if youre lucky, you can still find an 02 lying around
I hated the SI for awhile then I went to drive one for a joke and loved the way it drove and the interior looked slick. I wasn't really digging the outside, till I saw a black one and ended up buying it. The only thing that took getting used to is the car seems tall and sits higher up then most cars, since I was used to a 91 integra with 2" drop.
if that's true, i'm going straight to the dealership to trade in my car for that. i talked to a guy at the dealership and he said he heard about that too. i wonder if it's going to be worth trading it in. i was thinking about trading in my car for a manual EX, but if what you say is true, then i'm waiting for that.anyone else heard about this?
The lot lizard just told me it may be available by the end of this year, but most likely Spring of next year. I can't find anything on-line about it, so it may not be true, but two different dealerships told me the same thing so who knows.
I'm doubting that for some reason. I don't think that Honda is going to associate the "Si" with a coupe again. It was only done for 99-00 (first time ever) and all previous were hatches.
As for the 160hp motor finding it's way in the Coupe/Sedan, I don't see why they'd do that unless they're definitely bringing the CTR. If we get the CTR, then I could believe it.

Anyway, I like the Si. It's just too damned expensive. Even the EX is too damned expensive. That's why I drive an LX. If I were to choose an EX or an Si I'de get the Si though.

The dealer I talked to about bringing the CTR over said that it was still in the air because of lackluster sales. So if the CTR comes over then the ITR would come over (becuase Acura has to be more powerful in their eyes). If that is the case then maybe the EX might get the Si engine and be a new Si or the FP. At any rate I would expect the price tag to be around the current Si model if true... just a speculation here

Yah, when I talked to the dealer guy, he sounded as if that idea was up in the air.
Do you guys think that the Si motor will make its way in the Coupe model? It's doesn't have to be the EX. They can call it Si or FP, I don't really care. I just hope they make a Coupe version of the Si.

They're are different engine codes for a reason. (But I see what you're saying.)

Since we are all about opinions...
For this hatch owner, the decision was easy... the new civic coupe/sedan is..hmmm what to say........ IMO.... the rear is bland and the interior comes up short.
I think that the new HB is more boldly styled than a lot of people were prepared for. I have ridden in both, and can't say that I even had a decision to make.
Good luck car shopping.

Its funny how all the newer people to Honda want a two door coupe as an Si, rather than a HB. To me, the newest Si is going back to its roots...as a HB. I still think their should of been a slightly faster engine (RSX-S would do good), but all in all I'm happy. I'm a big fan of HB and had a Golf before the Si. Nice car, but it had too many "luxuries" for a HB (who needs heated mirrors?) I like the Si because its got the minimum power options, and none of the overkill. Lack of armrest is a touch that I acutally like...its more driver oriented.
Also, the engine is really sweet...regardless of power. I didn't buy one to go race, I bought it because it was cheap, reliable, and quick. If your looking for mere HP and 1/4 mile times, look elsewhere. Although, with the right amount of money anything is possible.
The new Si is a great car for the money. I wouldn't have bought one for $19k, but for a little over $15k, I was hooked.

Well thanks for everyone's opinion. I'm gonna stick it out and wait for something to happen... either the CTR or a K20 in a coupe. Yes, I have gone to test drive the new Si, and even though it drove pretty nice, I just wasn't convinced. I'm thinking I might just swap in a K20A2 in my coupe..
