Smoke coming from steering wheel! '92 Hatchback
SubscribeHello I was driving today, it was fine at first, then as I was waiting at a light I noticed it was a bit louder than normal and I smelt something weird. I didn't know it was my car I went to turn a corner to realize my signals weren't working, neither were my emergency lights. Then smoke started pouring out where the signal switcher is. I went to a parking lot and turned my car off. Turned it on again (had some trouble doing that). I was almost home so I was going a bit faster then even more smoke was coming out than before. I had a friend with me, he looked at my fuses and said none of them look like they were burnt or anything. Nothing was overheating under my hood.
What is the problem? And approximately how much will it cost to fix?
Thanks

Probably got a short in your dash somewhere
LoL it's kinda hard to diagnose and give you a price over the internet. Have you replaced any fuses in the last few weeks?

Yes I have, but it was the right number. Would that have done anything?Originally Posted by tbohar

Only thing I could think of related to the fuse replacement is a faulty fuse that didn't pop upon reaching the indicated amperage.. I had one, but luckily all it did was melt the base of a turn signal bulb
