headlights-there are so many almost anything is possible. there is reflector style and projector style for the main lo beam, black housing which is the trim painted black or other colors, or some people put tinted film on the outside lens for smoke look. reflector is pretty common, its a computer designed chrome mirror with many surfaces that focus light from a bulb and put it on the ground. projector does the same but uses a hidden chrome bowl inside the housing and light is focused with a lens at the end. the shape of the bowl determines the pattern of light output. main light sources are halogen (filament bulb) and HID (arc discharge) and both use completely different optics that are not interchangeable.
taillights-there are mostly just different styles and colors, and some with LED (light emitting diodes) which are single point sources of light in place of a standard bulb.
exhaust has several parts to it. there is the header/manifold that starts from the engine, then a downpipe that leads under the car, then catalytic converter, then all the piping that leads to the muffler. catback refers to the muffler and piping up to but not including the cat converter. some cars have different styles and positions but the main components are the same. it depends on what kind of car it is.

You can annoy the **** outta the car in front of you at night by simply turning your HID's on and having them look in their rear view mirror! There brighter....Higher light output on the Kelvin scale.
