Intermitent Wiper settings go crazy!!!
Intermitent Wiper settings go crazy!!!
I have a 2007 Civic Hybrid out of warranty. My wipers work fine on normal and fast settings. But they won't stop on the intermitent setting, and when I push the lever up for a one pulse option, it won't stop until after 8 or sometimes more cycles. Anybody had similar problems? I'm planning on replacing the relay first, then the switch. Anybody agrees?

There was a bulletin on the LX models with the fixed interval mode (you most likely have variable option) Not sure what years or models are affected.

Re: Intermitent Wiper settings go crazy!!!
if they dont fix it, you may want to just try yourself. usually in these cases, the wiper motor is never the problem. it either works or it doesnt, based on electrical signal from the switch. people change them only to have the same problem come back a year later. its most likely the switch, and it might be fixable by opening it and making sure everything looks normal and cleaning the moving and metal parts. if it really is the wiper motor somehow, i would go find an aftermarket version from the auto store cause the honda one will have the same problem as your old one. honda likes to replace parts alot when there is a problem, but they rarely release a new part that actually solves the issue.
