Hello,

Anyone have any idea where I can get these bulbs for an 02 Civic EX (orange IP illumination) My local dealer wants to gouge me on them. They are twist off with black base. I can't seem to find them at any online parts suppliers either. I have heard that the bulb itself can be separated from the base and replaced with generic 12v bulb. Don't know if this is true.

Amazing how I can buy an entire string of Christmas tree lights for less than the dealer wants for a single bulb. I have three (out of the five) burned out.

yeah its true. go to the auto store with your bulb and buy one that looks the same. then pull off the old one and install the new one using your old base. the wires just wrap around it. could also check autolumination.com i think they sell the whole thing for cheap.

It could be possible that the replacement bulb would be a #74 miniature wedge base bulb. See if the bulb can be pulled out of the socket without unwrapping the leads from the socket.

The others have solid wire leads that are wrapped around the plastic base.
