Muffler in the Winter = bad?
Muffler in the Winter = bad?
"Tanabe Hyper Medalion Muffler"
Friend - it will probably rust up bad, maybe we should put it on after winter
Friend#2 - if rust gets on it, use rubbing compound and it will take it right off, put it on.
Is it a bad idea to put it on (winter is comin SOON)

Re: Muffler in the Winter = bad?
well rust is permanent, the only way to keep it nice is clean the salt and stuff off occasionally. metal polish will bring the shine back, but once you wait too long and rust forms, you cant get that out because its a chemical reaction with the metal.
Re: Muffler in the Winter = bad?
This is true but there is Products that will stop the chemical reactions prevents the spread of rust as well. Best thing to do as he said is to wash off the salt, Driving your car without your exhaste will cause more harm in the long run anyways.
Re: Muffler in the Winter = bad?
well i will probabyl clean it occasionally, since im so excited to have it lol, i have my stock muffler and everything up but i just wanted the aftermarket. i would probably have to actually wash it? or could i just rinse it off with water?
