well the detailed diffrences depend on the year, but basically what it comes down to is the dx is like the base model and the ex is the top of the line (except Si).

Thru 2008, the Civic DX is the very base model with no a/c or radio. (Great if you're going to do some serious customizing and don't worry about your cargo overheating.)

In 2009 Honda introduced the DX-VP which is still base but included a/c and radio.

The EX is top 'o the line with moonroof, alloy wheels, bells & whistles.

if youre into performance, go with the dx cause it weighs a ton lighter and doesnt have power anything. the ex is more of a luxury version with alot of extras.

i picked up a 97 coupe with 17's projection headlights and 4-2-1 header. I just rebuilt engine had bad rod bearing. got cat and cat back on the way the pisser is the car was free.hope to have good luck with it gotta be better than my 94 astro van right.
