hey everyone i have a paint question, so hopefuly some one will be able to help me. i am looking to paint my civic and i have an electric paint sprayer normally used to paint garage doors on houses, it puts out about 3000 psi but i can dial it down. Will i be able to do this or will i need to get a gravity feed paint gun.

Re: paint my car
where do you plan to paint it, the garage? painting a car is a ton of work, from sanding and prepping the body panels, to masking off windows, trims, wheels, lights, etc and then making sure you spray the paint on evenly and then the clear coat.

yea painting is a real bitch, almost as bad as all the body work leading up to it, but theres a lot of components that go into a paint job, from how clean the area is, to the air circulation in the room, to how far away the gun is etc...have you got experience actually painting a car or just garage doors? cause obviously its going to be a little diffrent lol

i pretty familiar with my sprayer, i just didnt know if at its lowest setting is to powerfull, and my cars paint is horrifing so evan a poor paint job would look way better, but at the same time i want it to look good

Re: paint my car
well, in my opinion, if you dont have the experience and want it to look good, just pay to get it done, go to like a maaco and get a shitty maaco paint job for like a hundred bucks, but at the same time if you dont really care you could just attempt to do it yourself, but theres a lot more thatd go into that then just putting some paint in the sprayer and painting.
